What can I say in this special and painful leaving time..

I almost got a broken-hearted when I saw that each of your words and I cannot imagine that if we won't see each other anymore, but I know that is not ture. Since we have been a class together, we always be together, don't we?

Dear Nobi,
I still like call you this way. Not for the general politeness, but for your kindness. You know what, I strongly feel that you do everything you can to help everyone in our class including me in the botton of your heart, and I feel bad about myself for making troubles usually. As you said, we are in the process of growing, we may not entirely grow to an adult, but we are experiencing eveything in our life road. Rememeber I always hand out the homework and lately post the article in the blog, but you pay me back your kindness and generous patience and I feel so regretful and sad. Like you said, You are not only teaching English and what you have done and taught me really move me even a little part of something that is hard to realise. I need to say sorry to you here. You and Chisa show me and let me know how great Japanese are. You never like a old man around us, I can remember your sunshine smiles like a kid, your humour jokes, your blunt and cute behavior, you are the only one teacher make me feel most comfortable and easy to get along with. Final words from nobi

First of all, thank you very much again, everyone, for having come to my class.

I know it has been very painful to wake up early in the morning.

I always woke up at 6:00 am, and I must confess that it was sometimes hard for me, too.

(Although it gets easier as you get older.)

I often received e-mails from you late at night or early in the morning.

So I knew that you guys kept awake till late, and went to bed so late.

No wonder you were so listless and sleepy all the time in my class.

Well, for your health, go to bed and wake up early!

This has been my fourth class to teach in ELC, and the first class where all the students were from East Asia as I always had Arabic people in my class.

So this reminded me of a college class that I taught in Japan before coming to the US.

Now, you were much younger than my former students.

Therefore, I faced some discipline problems, too.

I knew that I would teach not only English but also other things that are more important than English because I myself was not a good student in college.

You may not be able to imagine, but I sometimes slept in class.

I failed some classes.

I even rebelled against my professor.

Well, time passes, things change, and people grow.

Now I am teaching how to live.

But that is possible only because I also experienced bad times.

Yes, I needed discipline myself, and somehow I succeeded.

However, without other people's help, I am sure I could never have overcome the hardship.

I was scolded, yelled at, and hit by my mentors.

All those made me grow up to be an adult.

And I see that you are still in the process.

I hope I could have taught you like I was taught by others in the past.

But I know that it is difficult and often impossible.

Still, I did what I could do, what I thought I should do as a teacher as well as as a human being.

But, as you will not be my students any more, I don't have any control over your life.

So, how you take them into your life all depends on you.

Now you will meet new mentors, hopefully better ones than me.

I have been teaching something for over 15 years so far.

I have taught so many classes.

I have taught over 1,000 students.

And I have kept saying good-bye to all of them.

Not a single one of them is happiness.

Every single one of them is sadness.

But in order to step forward, we must say good bye.

One good bye bears a new hello.

It is now our turn to be apart.

I hope your next encounter will be even more precious.

This class is just a part of your life.

Say Bey

Time flys so fast. I just got up and checked my cell phone, worried about if I am late or not, but I realized that there is no more class. Nobi is right, there is no more hurry up, no more yum in our class, and I can not see your sleepy face and cool hair anymore.

I am suprized that I will have such a good class in my first collage year. I thought the class in univesity will be different from high school. Becase in high school, we always stay in one room together, but in collage, it is unsualy hard to see one classmate every day. Fortuntaely, we stay togther from 8am to 3pm every. And we got to know each other well. So should we thank ELS… Hum…

Any way, it is very nice to meet you guys. Every sigle one in our class has storng personalities. Some people said I did not show a lot of smilling, the reason is I feel noisy and tired when I am in classroom. Be honestly, I thought I am in a collage classroom, so people should know how to be a student, we are come to study but not for fun. At least, do not always disturb others. It is the end of the semmester, maybe it is not nice to say it, but it is my sincere suggestion. Hope every one get good luck in the next year.

First I need talk about Kun. Scott said we are guy, I think he chould be. But not me,see I got girl friend. I am not sure about Kun, he seems like to interest both side. But Kun is a good friend and a thin melomania, when you say you are going to pay his luch, he still just eat a little. And when you want to meet him when he is playing with his music, you should say, hey, I get a lot of cold coke, will you come? Haha, thank you Kun, I am sure we will contact a lot next year.
Then is A.J. It is quite hard to be in a class which full of chinese, isn’t it? I still remember you bring me and Kun to the Italian resturant, it is so good, we should go more. You always think of others, like you are the only one who bring candy to class when it is holiday. An I like the smile of your hand wash, haha. Now, go to bed, you hard working lady. Go and have a great sleep until the next spring comes.

And horace, you are in our group of panda, then I got to know with you. When I meet you at first time, I thougt: wow, his face is funny. Hahhahaha. I always think you can be a acter of a kongfu movie. No reason. Well, you are the guy who say the world “F***” most often, I think you just learn this world really well. And you are very funny hahahaha. Good luck at next year, remember your homework then.

Then is Chisa. Chisa, really, we all can see your English imporve so much, your speaking or writing. When I read your last essay in Nobi’s class, I was quite surprised that your writing is so good. You did good joy this semmester. May be you are the only one in our class who really want to improve english. And hope you have a good time back in Japan. Of cuase you will.

Wei and Sean, forgive me to write you two together. You two as a group of Chendunes get my attention a lot, whereevery in the class room or in the hall way. It is so load, but thank you, buecase you, our sleepy class have some energy to show to Nobi. Sean, wish you can be a pro of a car in the futre, I will buy car from you. Grace, even people call you motosycle lady, but I don’t think you are strong and taugh enough for that. Yu, your first name is same as my last name. and you use your fist name as your name. I feel realy strange at the early of the semester, because last year people call me yu…you seems to be a very quite guy in our class. And I have a suggestion to you, I can read your eassay or something else when you are reading, you are always talking about something poor or bad about yourself. I realy suggest you to stop doing that, a good men never show others his weak side. One can be proud of hisself just because being him self. So be more open and confidence. 1 I can remember clearly what happened at the beginning of this class. when I saw you guys wrote your name on the blackboard one by one, I thought we had been good friends for sure.

1. Hi, everybody, we are glad to welcome the end of this semester , both with excitement and a little sadness.
2. Time flies, I clearly remember the sigh of the first day of our class. At that time, we do not know each other at all, however, we are friends now, we have closely relationship and depend on each other.
3. Over view the whole semester, We learn a lot and attain much new things.
4. Thank everyone in this class. I feel warm and happy to sit with all of you in the same class.

1. Christmas is coming, everyone! Is this your first Christmas in America? When you think about Christmas, you can imagine many things. Such as Santa Claus, Rudolf, large size sock with presents, snow, Christmas card, carols, and Christmas tree.

2. Christmas is on December 25. Christmas being one of the most important and popular holiday.

3. Many people are celebrating with their family. Actually, when Christmas Eve is coming, people were hanging out with their friends. At Christmas day, people usually stay with family.

4. Christmas is very special day to everyone. Especially, children love Christmas time because they will get present from Santa! (Actually, presents are from their parents. Haha:-])

5. When I think of Christmas, I always remember a movie name called “Home alone” and “Love Actually”. I think “Home alone” is very famous movie in the world. During Christmas, you can see this movie on TV channel.

6. Some children want to make snowman. Sometimes, they like to do snow fight also.

7. Usually, we think Christmas is match with winter. California does not have winter time, so they celebrate summer Christmas. If I have a chance, I really want to go there and celebrate summer Christmas!

4. First of all, thanks to Nobi, I felt no sence of strangeness. I still remember the first day I came here, you let me introduce myself. I had no testbook then you let Steven share his book with me.
I also remember the first time being late for a whole class, you said "welcome back". I felt so warm.
5. We all agree that you are very cute. You always pretend to get angry, and you often imitate all kinds of expresses. What's more, thanks for your diligence. Your homework's division is the most finely; however, you always finish editing them on time. Thanks for your amity and help.
6. Then it is Scott. The first word came to my mind should be "motorbike boots". Thanks for the nick name. We all admit that he is humourous. He is intelligent maybe (hehe) , so he can react so fastly. He also has abundant expresses on his face, which always make us laugh. He always says "en...no" when someone answers his question but wrongly.
7. There are numberous students who are afrid of him, because he is so stict when he is serious. Also, many of us think the way he teaches are hard to be accepted. However, I enjoy his class.
8. I like Alissa. She is so nice and thoughtful. Because of her, we international students are not unfamiliar with the traditional holidays. She bought us candies in Halloween. She bought us apple cider and pumpkin during Thanksgiving. She is so sweet.
9. What's more, she is versatile and gifted to imitate all kinds of sounds which always make us laugh happily. However, she is also prudent when we gave an presentation.
10. Although you do not know anything about my teachers in level 1, I still want to thank them. Thanks for Marian, Davis, and Shaofeng. Everyone of them are so nice. I felt so moved after I came here. I send them e-mails to say thanks. Can you imagine what they said to me? They said I deserved it, and they also appreciate my diligence and cooperation. I saw Davis in the workshop, I felt so gracious.

1. I know there are a lot of circus groups in China. There are some circus groups in Japan, too. I have seen some of them. I’m sorry AJ. I have not seen Korean one, but I think Korean one is also great. However, the most favorite group is “Cirque du soleil.”

2. Have you ever seen “Cirque du soleil?” This is the most famous entertainment group in the world. "Cirque du soleil" was established in Canada in 1984. The name “Cirque du soleil” is French, and it means “circus of the sun.” This is not just circus. They mix circus, art, opera and rock music.

Have you ever confused by some “art” which you think is just a piece of junk but marked by “art”. For example:

Actualy there are a bunch of them in United States, and I agree with you, that is just a piece of junk. And they called: Mordern Art or American Art. You may wondery how it become art? It is kind of inaccurate if I just say “Mordern Art is just American Art”, in more rigorous way: from the root, modern art is a kind of “American Art”, because excpt the logic of art, the formation, develpoment and establish were all made by United State. It is contrled by USA, and represent the culture and spirit of USA.

“Modern Art” was the 60’s American Art which confirmated by international. At that time, American new art rolled sweep Europe. It was just like the Soviet Union seted up the “Kominform” to displace “Kominter”, 1950, USA Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) setted up “Congress for Cultural Freedom”. Then CIA start their war of culture. To fight bake the culture propaganda of Sovet Union, Unite state did good on “Culture War” or “Psywar”.

From 1950 to 1979, CIA have used a huge mount of money frome over 160 foudations and the Marshall Plan, to do everything that they can to public the “American Art” and “American Culture”. And they called the plants are sculpture. I have to say it is quite funny and creative, but I can not say anything about art from it.

The Thanksgiving vacation

1. First of all, I should apologize that I can not put all these pictures between the words and they are disordered.
2. We had planned to have a thanksgiving vacation on my aunt`s home long time ago. On November 26th 2009, we were invited to her house by plane. The day before 26th, we did not sleep at all. Instead of sleeping, we played computer games together. It was a spectacular occasion, 4 people playing computer games and 3 people watching NBA, the rest of them were packaging their stuffs. Because thanksgiving the most famous western familial festival, all the native students have gone. My room is a 4 people room with a 20 inch television, which is one of the largest rooms in Bryan. All our Chinese friends have been to our room for chatting and playing. We were playing games until 4 o’clock, because we had reserved the taxi to airport. Our plane would departure from Lansing at 5:30 in the morning and arrived at Detroit, and then we would fly to Cincinnati from Detroit. After that, we transferred to the final destination, New York City. Although I agree that it`s a good chance to have many hassles when I am young, these three transformations really made me stomach and fatigued.
3. When I came in her home, I felt hungry by the traditional delicious thanksgiving meal odor.
4. My aunt`s daughter cooked an amazing thanksgiving dinner for us and I appreciated her very much.This is my aunt and her daughter.
5. We ate turkey, apple salad, fried potato, eggs, apple pie, mashed potato, pumpkin pie and wine. Can you image that all those dainty traditional food were cooked by an 18-year-old Chinese girl, even the mashed potato sauce was made from the fresh strawberries!
   After the wonderful dinner, I charged an airbed by myself. Here is the airbed.
6. I edited my third essay until midnight. You see, I am a diligent guy. We woke up at 5am on the black Friday morning for shopping. I spent 3hours in the line in order to get in this goddamn Gucci shop. Tragically, I could not find any nice clothes or bags after I enter the shop. Because I was too late, all the new arrivals were sold out.
7. In the evening, we played dota with our English friends on the floor.
8. The next day, we visited Manhattan, the 5th avenue, the empire states and Soho.The world is small sometimes; I have met my friends on the 5th avenue in New York.
9. I bought a macbook from here and carried it through the whole day! When we arrived at Soho at night, I saw another apple shop there. What a tragedy!
10. I always forget to check the price before I pay the regular goods. At that night, I decided to buy some gift for my friends. So I went to a crowded chocolate shop and chose two boxes chocolate randomly. I thought they wouldn`t cost me so much money, because there are so many ordinary people in the shop. I disbelieved my listening at the first time, because I have heard that I should pay 80 dollars for only two boxes chocolates, which just contained 16 in each box. Factually, my listening capability was perfect. It was 80 dollars! I had given the gifts to friends eventually, I didn`t even know how it taste.
11. Anyway, I bought a new laptop and few clothes for myself, had an wonderful thanksgiving meal and met my old friends in the NYC. I like my the first thanksgiving vacation in America. How about yours? Should be exciting, isn`t it?

1. Today I want to talk about some movie that I have watched and I love them. Maybe the movie that I will mention next you already watched. Whatever, these movies are really worth to have a good enjoy. That is why I put them here. Because I am a huge fans of movie.
2. Gone With The Wind. My frist love of all the movie. The original novel was wrote by MargaretMitchell. The story stared on the eve of American Civil War. The heroine, Scarlett O'Hara(Viviaan Leigh), was a girl who bron with a beautiful face and so many men felt in love with her. At the end of the movie and book, there is a sentence that I still can rememeber it clearly"Tara! Home. I'll go home, and I'll think of some way to get him back! After all, tomorrow is another day!".
3. The Shawshank Redemption. The story was about the leading roleAndy's (Tim Robbins)life in prison. He had been framed to get into the prison. He had been carefully machinated for everything. 4. Slumdog Millionaire. The actors are not so famous, but the story is so profound. The story was happened in India, was about a youth participated a questions and answers show. 8. Lost in Translation. This movie is about a man and a woman they met in Tokoy and hung out ,spent a few days together. They both had crush on each other. There were some feeling happened between them. However, their ages were so different. This movie won many prize.
9. Pride and Prejudice. This is the movie that every so familiar with. Most people knows about the original novel that wrote by the famous writer J ane Austen. Cause everyone knows about this so I am not going to talk a lot about this. Just let you know the movie I mentioned is the new one that acted the Anny Hathaway.

Your body needs to sleep

1.Today, I will talk about sleeping. It is familiar with you. You need it every day. There is another thing that you know very much. It is also close to sleeping. Yes, you are right-------- dream.
2. You may spend 1/3 of your life on sleeping. When you are sleeping, your muscles become paralyzed. Of course, your health is not influenced. Your brain becomes active and is full of all kinds of activities. That is the result of dreaming.
3. Everyone is affected by the change of day and night, and your body is also controlled by circadian rhythm. It is a kind of time rhythm. According to research, without the influence of the sunshine, the “clock” in your body is different from the clock on the wall. It has 24.18 hours in a circle. So you need to be exposed to the sunshine to correct the “clock” in your body.

College Football

1 Have you ever seen football match before? I don’t know how many of you have seen our football match in Spartan Stadium. Did you enjoy it?
2 Actually, the match played on last Saturday was our last match this season. Did you go to stadium to see it? That was the last show of our Spartans. Although we lost the last match in a big gap, 42-14, our Spartans has tried them best.
3 After this match was ended, our final results are 6 win and 6 lost. This is an average result. In last season, our final result(9win and 3lost)is further better than this season. Besides, we got a chance to participate a bowl match which is Capital One Bowl. However, we lost that match.
4 The college football season currently begins Labor Day weekend, one week earlier than the NFL. The regular season continues through early December with the season's penultimate weekend holding several conference championship games and rivalry games. Starting in the 2009 season, the regular season finale, the Army–Navy Game, is one week later.
5 After season match, it also has postseason. The postseason consists of a series of bowl games that showcase the top 64 college teams. Bowl games generally match two teams of similar standing from different conferences.
6 The sponsor of bowl game needs to collect many data of match, and they have to do a lot of calculation. At the end, they decide who are going to take the bowl game. Of course, the team who wins the final champion, they will get plentiful award money.

5. In the speaking part, people should not be so nervous and do not influence by others who is sitting next to you. In addition, people should know about the system standard which means how to score and what are they testing, for instance accuracy and fluency are the two of points they are testing. The most important point is relax yourself.
6. In the reading part, you do not have to reading everything, just reading the significant part which can help you answer the questions. In this part, scanning is used often. Furthermore, you should know you may not have enough time to read and answer the questions, superadd many kind of complicated questions, make sure organize your time well.
7. In the writting part, you will write 2 artical. You must take note in the first one, in the section, listen carefully and take a good notes will help you about your artical. Because you will write a short comparision essay. The next one is the regular timed writting, you should finish within 30 minutes. Thanksgiving Day

2. In the United States, thanks giving day is started on fourth Thursday of November every year. On that day, family will get together to celebrate this holiday with traditional turkey dinner. It normally begins at mid-afternoon and celebrates for great harvest of each year.
3. The history of thanks giving day may backing about 300 years ago, it started in 1621 before United states of America was formed. On September 6, 1620, the mayflower ship set sail from Devon, England to America. This ship was taking roughly 100 English pilgrims to the new continental, America.
4. The pilgrims sailed 66 days and finally arrived in America in November of the same year. They settle in a cornfield first and work on the land with much difficulty. About half of them died due to fatal disease. However, with help of an Indian named Squanto and his tribe, these pilgrims have learnt how to plant corn, bean, pumpkin and other crops, etc.
5. In the late September 1621, the pilgrim came to their great harvest. To celebrate the first harvest, they thank for god and invited all the native Indian to celebrate together in a feast. They ate turkey, duck, birds as well as some seafood. Therefore, the word “thanksgiving” came to people’s life.
6. The Thanksgiving Day was a time of happiness, friendship and appreciation with somebody who has helped you ever before. It became a holiday celebrating harvest for next 150 years until 1777.
7. On October, 3, 1777, president George Washington declared that thanksgiving day became national holiday and people can observe a day of public thanksgiving.
8. As for dinner on thanksgiving day, the turkey is required for each family. Beside it, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, corn are some dishes cooked in every family.
9. In addition, there are thanksgivings parades will be shown for people. It is an official day started with President Lincoln. Some soldiers in dress to display the country’s military strength and power so that encouraging people to love their country and providing a wholesome entertainment for them as well.

Some Slight Opinion about the Pop Music in China

Today I am going to introduce some professional things which are related to music to you.

After reading my short article, you might get more familiar to the music and you will not think music is difficult to you.
As I know, 90% of Chinese pop music has the most common and simple “scale”. The scale is like the level of the “chord”. Let me explain the word “chord” to you. If we hit the keyboard of a piano, we can hit at most ten notes once because we have ten fingers. However, we don’t need to hit so many notes once because three notes come to a “chord”. I think everyone should hear “Do Re Mi” when you were in elementary school. For example the note “Do Mi So” which is C, E and G come to a chord which is called C chord. As we have eighty eight notes in one piano, we have thousands of chords. Some of them sound bright, others may sound dark or blue etc. We chose the proper chord to express our feeling in a song. However, the reason why I think Chinese pop music is not difficult is that Chinese songs always use only six or seven common chords, at most ten. It is very easy to find out my discovery. For instance, there is a song called Take Me to Your Heart which is sung by Michael Learns to Rock, MLTR. The original version is sung by Jacky Cheung (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacky_Cheung). Its chord is extremely simple, just has four chords which C, A minor, F and G. However, if we change the song to another key, the chords will be different. How can I say Chinese Song is simple? The answer is simple, too. If we use the “scale” to take a look at this song, the scale will be one, six, four and five. No matter how we change the key, the scale will still be one, six, for and five. This is just an easy example which is also typical for Chinese songs. Hope it will develop your interest in music.

My favorite basketball player

1. There are many famous basketball player in the world, for exapmle, Jason Kidd, Steven Nash, Kobe Bryant, and so on.




2. However my favorite basketball player is Allen Iverson. His full name is Allen Ezail Iverson. Then I want to state some things about AI and you may like to watch him how to play basketball.




3. First, I like him because that he play basketball based on his skill not his body, I really hate that some players who play basketball like playing football. AI was 1.83m that is samilar as me. He play basketball based on his speed and movement. This part affect me to change my style of play basketball.




4. Secondly, AI has a stronger willing to win the game, he can play basketball like which is his final show. He said that he was not Micheal Jordan, he was not Lary Bird, he is just himself, and even through at that time Jordan is the god of basketball but AI still using crossover to score in fort of the god. At that time, he was in his first season in 76er.
5. During the first ten years in NBA, he got MVP in all star game in his first season. He also got the most development player in his first season.
6. He also represent the American basketball to the Olympics. He also is a singer and there are so many songs that he song. There is one that I still rememered is called Last Night.
7. These year AI changed a lot, he was not the player who can play basketball for himself, he also help his teammates to score. But he is getting older and older, he can not be as fast as before.
8. Recently, there is no NBA team wants to employe Iverson because no enough space that can let him show to us that he is as wonderful as before.
9. However, I think there must be some players whose style of playing is samilar as Allen Iverson and Allen Iverson may teach some one how to play. In the fulture, we may say the NO.3 player that have some relationship with Allen.
10. I hope I can see that day to see Allen Iverson's follower.
