ReplyDeleteI have a different sense which I did not have before I came to the U.S. I used to care about fashion so much in Japan, but I wear simple clothes now.
I feel people's kindness more than before. I feel how much my parents and friends help me. I want to say thank you to them all.
After I read your blog, I found we have so many common points. As a foreign student, we have too many feeling that different from our own country. We need to adapt it slowly. This is "culture shock" that we called. I also miss everything of china, missing parents, missing friends, missing everything that once around us,even though things that we hated before.
ReplyDeleteRight now, we have to study at here until next summer. when I back to china, I am going to achieve everything that couldn't done in america.
I totally agree with your viewpoint. As a foreign student, we must find something different from our country, such as "culture shock".Before we came to USA,we can do a lot of things that we can not do right now in the USA.In some cases, people do have homesickness, they miss their parents, family, friends and many people in their hometown. However, study aborad is not really bad thing. It gives us so many experience which is we can not learn in our hometown. Not only academic knowledge, but also the experience of your social life.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is true that we here changed our life style and learned something new. Although, many people would like to have our chance to go out of country and to change their life style, but after time all of them will be homesickness and they want to go back home. Yes I agree that is great experience to live outside of you country, but do not forget that the best thing in this life to be with you family and your friends in your home town. I am really homesick and I want to go back. Please help me
ReplyDeletei truly have common sense with your words. you find really good words to show the different and make us so homesick. but i think this is only works for chinese international student. Right, studying abord change people so much.
ReplyDeleteThat is really true.
ReplyDeleteBefore we came here, we had lots of free time, actually we felt life was empty sometimes; we dressed up; we liked American fast food...After we came here, we are busy, we enjoy the lesured dress style; we "hate" western food and we miss chinese food...Going abroad is changing us. It is changing our attitude, and also our thoughts.
I agree with you. when I was in Korea,I'd never wear simple clothes, but I do now.
ReplyDeleteI loved fast food when I was in Korea. After When I came to U.S. I don't eat fast food that much. Still I want to be with my friends and family, but I must find something different from our country and deal with this. It will be one step for me to grow up little bit more!:-)
Yes, I feel that there are a lot of changes in my life after I cacme to US. One of apparent examples is the rhythm and speed of life . I am busy in studing English here compared with English studing in china. Beside, I found that we tend to be individual and self-motivated in field of study. There will be no one taking responsibility for you . You actually should learn how to live by yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhat you wrote is what i think. So far, I am already tired of eating pizzas, steaks, fries. I miss the food in my country. especially for rice. As you know, the rice in America is dry and rubbery.

THIS IS THE FUNNIEST BLOG THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY TEACHING. I REALLY ENJOYED READING IT. WHEN I WENT BACK TO JAPAN AFTER STAYING IN THE STATES FOR A YEAR, I HAD A CULTURE SHOCK. I GOT USED TO AMERICAN LIFE STYLE, AND IT WAS EVEN HARDER TO GO BACK TO MY OLD LIFE STYLE AND ADAPT MYSELF TO JAPANESE WAY OF LIVING. BUT I WAS ABLE TO THINK A LOT ABOUT MYSELF AND JAPAN AS I WAS ABLE TO SEE THEM MORE OBJECTIVELY. BUT SOONER OR LATER, WE ALL GO BACK TO OUR COUNTRY (PROBABLY). SO ENJOY THE CURRENT LIFE!
your essay is really interesting for us to read. It talks about the differences between studying abroad and coming back to home. Some of what you wrote is true for me. But not all. Anyway I learned something from your essay.
