Biology & Psychology about The Diet

  1. In America, I think many people are confused with growing weight, such as me. Therefore, I want to talk something about the diet.
  2. When do your body tell you that you need to eat something? The answer is that when you feel hungry, you wanto to eat food naturally. The organism has structures to finish four tasks as follow:(1)be aware of the need of food; (2) start and organize the action of eating food; (3)control the amount of food you eat; (4)perceive that when you eat enough food and stop eating.
  3. Walter Cannon, the pioneer of psychologiest, did a successful experiment to prove that the stomach's jerks and shrinks are the causes of feeling hungry. However, in the following research, scientists found that if you inject glucose into an animal's stomach, and its stomach became calm again, but it still felt hungry.
  4. Therefore, an empty stomach is not the reason of being hungry.
  5. People find that there are two part in your body. One is called Lateral Hypothalamus(LH), and the other one is Ventromedial Hypothalamus(VMH). The research shows that if VMH is destroied or LH is stimulated, the animals will eat more food. On the other side, if LH is destroied or VMH is stimulated, the animals will eat less.
  6. If the content of glucose in your body is lower than average level, the information from liver will be sent to LH, and LH will analyze the information and make the reaction. If the content of glucose and fatty acid is higher than the average level, VMH will let you stop eating.
  7. Nevertheless, eating is not just for not being hungry. You will choose shen and what you like to eat. It is not just the reaction for the information of your body. Sometimes, consedering of the body shape will affect the diet.
  8. DO NOT LIMIT WHAT YOU EAT, when you want to go on a diet. The study shows that the women who were limited food would eat more than those who were not limited food. That is so interesting.
  9. The example tells us that when a person's mental health is threatened, he will eat more. That is why some overweight people can not lose their weight easily. They might be those who limit thier diet for a long time.
  10. Having a good habit of eating is so important. It is not good for your physical health, but also mental health.

    I was shocked by some theories in your blog. One is an empty stomach is not the reason of being hungry. I thought it was the reason. The stomach fells it then we go to have meal. That is amazing. And another is the women who were limited food would eat more than those who were not limited food. I think this is unimaginable.
    What I'm gonna to say is treat your stomach well. I have suffered from the indigestion for more than two weeks, so I know it is really bad when your stomach aches. So, do have a good habit of eating.

  2. Ha, i like the worlds "do not eat what you eat!" i never limit what i eat, i eat as much as i can untill i feel full or can not take anymore. I do not get become fat easily becasue i do a lot of exercise. But i find a interesting thing that i can be fat easier when my fair is longer. I do not know if it is concerning the biological. But anyway, believe have a healthy diet and heathy living habit can always keep people fit.h

  3. I agree with you. How to keep a good diet is important thing for me because it is related to your physical health directily and mater your body condition. I keep regular diet every day and eat meat as less as possible. I found that I would become more vigorious and energetic after having a good diet. So it is useful and helpful for me to learn someting about the diet.

  4. Oh,your majoy is psychology.It is really cool,can you read people's mind??? The diet is very important part for our health.Because we get nutrition from it,and if we have a good diet,we will be healthy.DO NOT LIMIT WHAT YOU EAT,I like this sentence,just do it yourself will be fine.Because sometime when I limit myself,I always eat a lot at midnight.So,i know what is that feeling like.Thus,have a good diet is so significant for everybody.

  5. I learned a lot of things from this essay. I did not know that there are two parts in our body, and how these parts are working.
    One of my friends used to care about her weight, and she limited what she ate. Then she got ill because she limited meals too much. (Surprisingly, she was studying nursing at that time, and she knew the importance of her health.)
    I do not limit what I eat. If I want to lose my weight, I do exercise. I try to think about my body more.

  6. My mother always told me "do not only eat the things you like, it is not healthy." Meanwhile, there are many people still insist on diet, low carlorie foods today. Life is not easy somtimes, I have to make a new habit of drinking diet coke in order to lose weight after I came here. All the foods were added sugars in the restaurants and I have already sick of having sweat foods. I am trying to have some salads every, although I was a meat-eating mammal.

  7. i do not limit my diet at all. I am the one who can eat so much but gain little weight.maybe i am lucky,or my organ has some problem.The happiest thing is I can eat what I want to eat.That makes me feel proud when I saw someone must be on a diet or they will get weight.

    About your last sentence, that is certainly describe what the most thing you should change...en..Ophelia? Yes, you don't eat breakfast everyday.
    Everyday I eat when I hungry,when I want to eat. Except for snacks like candy, chips and some other puffed food. Cause those will lead to more problems on my body health. Now I am carrying out a lose-weight plan. I just go to the fitness room in stead of limit my diet.

  11. life is short, so let us carpe diem . if you are not so fat, keep going, there no need for you to keep on diet. no body love people who is too slender. Relatively more important is to keep a healthy heart. further more, if there exists a food only contains VMH, that would be more easy for people to lose weight.

  12. Usually, girls wants to diet. Even, they are really siknny they want to losing weight.
    I think body condition is very important if you want to do diet. I don't eat breakfast everyday and I always eat dinner a lot. My doctor told me that it is not good for my physical health. Specaily,someone who wants to do diet. They have to eat regularly,and they have to exercise more than three days.It will help their health and also they can lose weight. Anyway, I hope everyone wake up early and eat breakfast before Nobi's class!! haha:-)

  13. Thank you for this important information, I really enjoyed your essay. I have thinking about this topic since I came to the USA and I have good information about American food. The first advice my family gave to me to consider my food because they knew how American food is fat. I really avoid eating outside my home and I always am attention what I eat. I do not want to go home very fat because it is so easy to gain weight, but so difficult to loss it.

I think that we should eat more abundant instead of eating too much, because our body need a variety of elements. we should not lose weight following eat less. That will be harm for our body.

    7. Nevertheless, eating is not just for not being hungry. You will choose WHEN(?) and what you like to eat. It is not just the reaction TO the information of your body. Sometimes, THOUGHT of the body shape will affect the diet.
    8. DO NOT LIMIT WHAT YOU EAT, when you want to go on a diet. The study shows that the women whoSE FOOD WAS limited would eat more than those whoSE FOOD WAS not limited *. That is so interesting.
    9. THIS example tells us that when a person's mental health is threatened, SHE/he will eat more. That is why some overweight people can not lose their weight easily. They might be those whoSE DIET HAS BEEN limitED * for a long time.
    10. Having a good habit of eating is so important. It is * good for NOT ONLY your physical health, but also mental health.

    I DON'T CARE ABOUT FOOD AT ALL. I EAT ONLY TO SURVIVE AND MAKE MY BRAIN WORK. I AM OK WITH NOT EATING MEAT OR SNAKCS AT ALL. I DRINK ALMOST ONLY JAPANESE TEA WITHOUT ANY SUGAR. BUT I NEVER MISS BREAKFAST. ALTHOUGH I AM THE PERSON WHO COMES TO CLASS THE EARLIEST, I HAVE NEVER MISSED ONE YET. GUYS, GO TO BED EARLY, SLEEP WELL, GET UP EARLY, AND HAVE SOME MEAL BEFORE LEAVING HOME.
